The Crawley Local Plan is progressing to submission, with the first hurdle being the Overview and Scrutiny Commission on 30 January 2023. If approved, it will then go to Cabinet on 1 February 2023 and then Full Council on 22 February 2023.

The report that accompanies the publication of the updated plan states that "Key changes which have been made since the published January 2021 Draft Local Plan Review are associated with: Water Neutrality Requirement; Amendments related to other evidence document updates; Response to representations made during the 2021 Regulation 19 Consultation; Passing of time – factual & data updates; National Policy updates. A full list of amendments is included in pages 13-17 of the Report to Overview and Scrutiny Commission.
Squires Planning made representations to the previous consultation on behalf of local landowners raising a number of issues with the plan, including the proposed Gatwick Green Strategic Employment Location (Policy EC4) which is at odds with national aviation policy and the safeguarding of land for a second runway.
