Braintree District Council have formally adopted Section 2 of their Local Plan.
Section 1 of the Local Plan was adopted in February 2021 and provides a shared strategy for North Essex between Braintree District Council, Colchester Borough Council and Tendring District Council. It provides a strategy and policies that apply to development proposals within North Essex.
Section 2 of the Local Plan was adopted in July 2022 and focuses on the Braintree District, looking at the themes of A Prosperous District, Creating Better Places and the Natural Environment. Each theme contains policies that apply to development proposals within the Braintree District. Section 2 of the Local Plan has now replaced the previous development plan documents which were the Local Plan Review (2005) and the Core Strategy (2011).
