Today marks the start of a 3 week public engagement exercise in Bolney for Glebelands.

In this case, the landowners did not want to relinquish control to a large housebuilder and opted to progress the site themselves, with an aspiration to positively add to the village housing stock and build something which could be seen to be an example of how to build for the future.

The proposal is for an ecologically-minded development totalling 75 new homes, with 48 affordable homes for first time buyers in Bolney and families who might otherwise find themselves priced out of the local market. The scheme also includes 15 self build plots which would have to be built in accordance with the overarching ecological ethos and an external design code. The bulk of the site would be set to woodland.

We invite all stakeholders to get involved. Local perspectives and suggestions will help us ensure the project best serves the needs and aspirations of the local community.
We are seeking input from today until 10th March. Full details can be found at https://glebelands.squiresplanning.co.uk/ but those who want to meet and discuss the proposals can do so at The Rawson Hall (9:30am – 12:30p on Saturday 2nd March 2024 & 5:30pm – 8:30pm on Thursday 7th March 2024). How to respond is set out on the above website.
