Brentwood Borough Council are on the lookout for sites to be allocated in Brentwood Borough Council’s ongoing review of the Local Plan.

The Local Plan is a plan for the development of the local area, and it guides decisions on whether planning applications can be granted. The current Local Plan was adopted in March 2022 and guides growth and development across the borough to 2033. Policy MG03 of the Local Plan requires the Council to review and update the plan to ensure it remains effective.

As part of the review of the Local Plan, the Council are running a call for sites where they are inviting the submission of sites within the borough, that may be suitable for housing and other residential uses such as specialist housing and Gypsy and Travellers sites, commercial development including employment, retail, sports, leisure and logistics, infrastructure including community uses, and green infrastructure including open spaces and biodiversity net gain. The call for sites process allows landowners, development interests and communities to suggest these possible sites for development or that could be used more productively or beneficially.

The consultation opened on the 19th December 2023 and will close on the 4th March 2024. The process involves the submission of information as to why the site is suitable for allocation. If you have a site or project in Brentwood, get in touch with Squires Planning to see how we can help.
