Summerhill House comprised a small timber chalet style bungalow in a woodland clearing. We were asked to review a live planning application which the Council had said was likely to be refused. This application sought permission for a new house substantial house on the plot.

Squires Planning did this review, liaised with the LPA and set out a strategy for the client to secure approval for a replacement dwelling. Unfortunately this involved withdrawing the current application and preparing a revised scheme which took the site's context, and local planning policy, into consideration. We advised on the most appropriate architect to prepare the revised scheme and assisted as the scheme was prepared. Once our clients were happy with the new proposal we collated the necessary information to support a planning application, including a Planning Statement, and submitted a the new application to Mid Sussex District Council.

After some minor discussions during the determination period the new proposal prepared by Squires Planning was approved by officers under delegated powers, with no need for it to go to committee which marked a significant turn around from the previous proposal which was to be refused.
