Squires Planning were asked to assist with the preparation planning application for the demolition of an existing office building and provision of 56 apartments with associated parking and landscaping in Haywards Heath. Working closely with LCE Architects, we provided general planning advice as the scheme was worked up, conducted pre-submission consultation with the local community, and prepared the Statement of Community Involvement and Planning & Heritage Statement which accompanied the application at submission.
With regard to the pre-submission consultation. This included discussions with the Town Council, public presentations (via Zoom as a larger public meeting and presentation was not possible due to COVID), and a questionnaire/feedback form and was properly advertised (flyers/posters/social media/dedicated website/etc). The feedback received through this exercise was used to update the proposal prior to submission. The consultation undertaken was documented in the Statement of Community Involvement.
