As part of their review of the Local Plan, Adur District Council is running a call for housing sites from 11 October 2023 to 22 November 2023. Aimed at landowners, developers, agents and other stakeholders with knowledge and interest in the area, everyone is invited put forward potential sites for assessment, or submit updated information on existing Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA) sites. Adur District Council have asked that sites are capable of accommodating 5 or more dwellings (net) and biodiversity net gain is taken into account.
Once sites are put forward, they are be assessed by the Council to see if they’re suitable for inclusion in the review of the Local Plan. If a site is included, the Local Plan will contain a policy that supports residential development on the site, with criteria for how development should come forward. For landowners, securing policy support makes it easier for planning permission to be obtained for development.
If you would like to submit a site in the Call for Sites, get in touch with Squires Planning to see how we can assist.
